Introduce geo tracking

Description

While we had some concerns about privacy it might make sense to get geo information (e.g. by IP address) about the logged in member for several purposes:

  • Our members might be interested in people "near by" (as it is in Couchsurfing). We might not want to just publish this data always but we could if a member wants us to (e.g. he marks a button "I'm travelling, let others see my current location")
  • Modern mobile devices would make geotracking even easier and more interesting to use.

I think this needs more discussion in the forum before we start this here. Personally i am against geo tracking by default, and if somebody wants to publish his location a simple message will do.

Sure. I'm definitely for a discussion. With a look at CS and a talk to others I just felt that we loose possibilities if we decline to use geo tracking at all. What I have in mind would definitely be non-default as in the button-example above..
