Sender address: account@….

Dear %username%,

We learnt that the BeWelcome member %username% passed away because of xxx in mmmm, yyyy.

As we can see from your comment or connection to the profile, you had known him/her personally. This is why we share these sad news with you.

We also would like to inform you that the comment this member left you will no longer be visible on your profile.

You are welcome to leave a condolence as a comment on xx's profile (or change your current comment into a condolence).

May he/she rest in peace.

Sad regards,
%username%, on behalf of the BeWelcome Member Administration Team

why in message:
"We also would like to inform you that the comment this member left you will no longer be visible on your profile." ?
It is not mentioned in the list of "things to do" and while forum posts are kept, why comments that the passed away left to other members cannot be left ?

Thanks a lot for the changes! I just tested them and there is one problem that is weird and should, in my opinion, be fixed as soon as possible:

  • Make profile visible to members only (if it was public before).

The profile is still public. The weird thing is: All changes made to the profile through the PassedAway? status do not show up when logged out - the profile just looks like before. I can see why we do not tell the world that someone has died but the profile should really just not be visible publicly at all.

Other open issues are (just to collect all changes that still need to be done - not the highest priority):

  • Disable all notifications

That actually already seems to work. You can't write any private messages any more. Group notifications and comment notifications are not sent. Not sure if I forgot something, so I leave it in the list to make sure, we've covered everything.

  • Remove "Send message", "Add as family member or close friend", "add note" from the left sidebar.
  • Rename "Add comment" into "Add condolence" and "Comments" into "Comments and condolences".
  • Do not offer any comment quality labels for condolences. Currently you still have to choose a label - although it is not displayed on the profile.

  • Keep past trips, remove upcoming trips.

Currently all trips are removed.

  • Keep blog entries

Currently all blog entries are removed.

  • Rename section about groups on the profile into "Belonged to following groups"
  • Add an admin interface through which the Member Administration Team can send out a mass mail (see ticket description)
