#89 closed bug (worksforme)

List items not showing up in the forums

Description (last modified by lemon-head)

While creating a thread about another bug before I found Trac (http://www.bewelcome.org/tb/forums/t1-Technical%20Help/s165-Broken%20links%20in%20Forum%20footer), I realized that list items in unordered lists (and probably also in ordered lists) don't work properly. You can enter them fine and the XPath thingy at the bottom of the textarea correctly displays that we're inside a li in an ul, however the content of the li somehow gets deleted along the way and doesn't show up in the final post. Looking at the source of the thread's page after posting, the whole ul only shows up as a self-closing tag (ul/>).

affects both the running version and the one test.bewelcome.org
I think the javascript-powered textbox needs some intensive testing! And if it can't be fixed in short time, we should use a traditional textbox instead, until it is fixed. -- lemonhead

I'm more and more in favor of scrapping the wysiwyg textbox.
It has happened far too often that things disappear - while typing, and when hitting the "submit" button.

For instance, I played with colors and special symbols (buttons on the very right), and suddenly all the text was gone. This drives me totally mad, and makes me use foul language in the forums...

I found out, this is partly due to missing CSS-classes. We set ul/li not to use "list-icons". I will remove this setting for lists within the forum but still this won't solve the problem with the numbered lists. Will have to look at that closer...
