Design draft: BeClean
Adding yet another draft for the homepage and tourpages. Maybe this one makes more sense and somehow "a difference". To realize it I want to ask people on flickr to lend us fullsize pictures that are already tagged with a cc (creative commons) license. I wrote someone today about the pictures that I used on the following drafts:
Ideas? Commments?
About the details: As the primary navigation I think of a javascript topdown on top that is backwards-compatible. The login will be made possible by a ajax-field that shows up on clicking on a "login"-link. The normal login-form doesn't show up if you have javascript available on your browser.
Not many texts, only the big-picture and few headings.
When beeing logged in, the header should change slightly (See last picture, tour): The search-field appears, the logo moves into the orange-header, personal links and information show up next to it. This layout can still be improved but generally this should be the way...
Julien (sitarane) says: Cute! I like it. Would something readable display on an outdated machine, or a portable device, or anything else than a less than 3 years old desktop or laptop?
lupochen says: Sure, we would make a simple version available for slow machines. More comments other than that?
crumbking says: I like the general idea. But we should move first the inner pages to the new layout before introducing another new start/tour page. I agree this is the way to go. The black version is for my taste "to dark" for a friendly "beWelcome-ing" community start page. Other drafts are good. Try to move the logo into the "orange bar". What is "explore"? What is library? Where is the Forum link? People = Find members?
