     50While I admit that dropdowns are in general problematic for the ones that can't use them (JS deactivated) I agree with lemonhead that a solution like on '''http://rusrestaurant.com/tests/menu/8.html''' already is quite close to full accessibility. Another way to not "loose" the ones without JS and modern CSS is to provide summary pages from where you get to all the sub-content. E.g: A click on "Members" should lead to a page from which you can jump to subpages like the Membersearch, the Country-app, the groups. It's a simple solution, yet it works.

     52I don't see a good alternative to the dropdowns if we want to keep a clean layout. Let's review our menu-structure constantly, then this could really help a lot. Furthermore, I'm also for marking wether a link opens a dropdown or not. For an example see http://www.flickr.com when you're logged in. The dropdown-links have a triangle next to them.
